Muhammad Ali - Not The Greatest

Post by Gambling Man »

Muhammad Ali - Not The Greatest

Ali is dead now at the age of 74.
Why are some people saying he is the greatest?
I have never been interested in any way about boxing.
Why have a "sport" where two grown men punch each other in order to cause damage to each other?
More to the point why do they look to "knock someone else out"?

Really, the TV shows this sort of thing and calls it a "sport".
This still happens and I can only think that there is a lot of money involved in this violent activity.
I know what competing against another person is and knocking them to pulp should not be included.

Time to ban boxing now?

I think its time to get rid of all violence off the television!
We spend all our lives preventing conflict and if we just touch someone it is assault which can land us in court.
We teach our kids to respect live yet all we see on the television is violence.
Even video games that the children play on their computers and consoles include killing people.
It just appears we have a lot of hypocrisy floating about.
Yes, it is time to ban boxing from our television screens.
Muhammad Ali is not the greatest and certainly is no hero to me!

Steady on chaps!
Have a little respect here.
He done all what was asked off him in the boxing ring but done loads more besides.
He fought tooth and nail for equality between blacks and whites.
Without him there may still be a struggle going on.
RIP

Ali was before my time but I have read that his Parkinson's disease was caused by the damage caused to him in the boxing ring.
Boxing fights have never appealed to me.

Ha ha ha.
Muhammad Ali is NOT the greatest sports person of all time.
I can think of many others including those who compete in many sports such as the decathlon :neenar:

No disrespect but Muhammad Ali hasn't done anything for decades and when he did, all he done was clobber a few people.
Does that make him the greatest?
