Orange windscreens - is this a new fad?

What's going on here? Is it even legal?
I've seen loads of drivers having them fitted now..

I've never seen any but there are laws:
The rules for tinted front windscreens and front side windows depend on when the vehicle was first used. There are no rules for tinting the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.
Vehicles first used on 1 April 1985 or later:
The front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through.
Vehicles first used before 1 April 1985:
The front windscreen and front side windows must both let at least 70% of light through.
The police or the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) vehicle examiners use light measuring equipment to measure window tint.

It's like the windscreen is rusted on some cars, you can't even see the driver. Clearly hiding something if they want it tinted so you can hardly see inside the car

They won't last long.
Some cars appear all black including very dark windscreens and even lights and registration plates but they do get stopped and an order placed on them.

I saw a car with an orange windscreen the other day and it looked impressive.

I've seen orange cars so I bet when they cotton on they will have the orange windscreens to match

There's already one in ford.. orange Audi, orange windscreen
